As a class, we started our first Caught’ya story. The Caught’ya is what I had you all working on when I asked you to write the incorrect sentence, and then fix it both on the board and in your PSSA Prep journals. This is what we have done so far:
Sentence #1:
INCORRECT: once upon a time there was a stupendous sixth grade class in potterville idaho
CORRECT: Once upon a time there was a stupendous sixth grade class in Potterville, Idaho.
Sentence #2:
INCORRECT: this fantastic class just happened to have ms blue as its teacher
CORRECT: This fantastic class just happened to have Ms. Blue as its teacher.
Sentence #3:
INCORRECT: their were 7 pupils in this class
CORRECT: There were seven pupils in this class.
After we corrected the three sentences, here they are put together:
Once upon a time there was a stupendous sixth grade class in Potterville, Idaho. This fantastic class just happened to have Ms. Blue as its teacher. There were seven pupils in this class.
Little did you know, you wrote a paragraph! See how easy paragraphs can be when you break it up? Now you know why this story is called, Caught’ya!
