Book Review: IT’S RAINING CUPCAKES

One of the books Mekdes recently finished for Book It! and her weekly book log is titled IT’S RAINING CUPCAKES by Lisa Schroeder. She put together the following summary of the book:

“In the story IT’S RAINING CUPCAKES, Isabel has always dreamed of winning a bakery contest at New York. She tells her mom about it and helps her make different kinds of cupcake recipes for her bakery shop. Friends and family buy them with satisfaction of the taste. They soon enter the contest and win.”

Author Lisa Schroeder recently released a follow-up book to IT’S RAINING CUPCAKES, which she titled SPRINKLES AND SECRETS. SPRINKLES AND SECRETS is about 12-year-old Sophie, who has always dreamed of becoming an actress. When she’s given the opportunity to audition for a TV commercial spot, she’s excited until she finds out she’ll be advertising the brownies from Beatrice’s Brownies. This wouldn’t be a problem except for it’s the number one competitor to It’s Raining Cupcakes, the shop owned by her best friend Isabel’s family. Will Sophie follow her dreams or crush her best friend?
